Continue ShoppingFranquette walnut is an old French variety discovered in the early 1800's. with a small walnut well sealed, thin shell. One of the last Walnuts to break dormancy; late spring frost is rarely a concern. Franquette walnut once the dominant walnut planted throughout the west. Less susceptible to frost than other varieties. It's self-fertile, but will produce more fruit with Chandler or Pedro. Ripens in the fall.
